Board Members Present: President Chuck Kryder, Vice President Dave Mitchell, Secretary Red Lawson, and Treasurer Janice Davis

The meeting was called to order at 6 p.m.

The minutes of the April 2 meeting were approved as read and will be forwarded to Tom Marsh for our website. The Treasurer’s Report was approved as submitted.

As close as we can tell, we pretty well broke even.

We have already signed the contract for the facility but not paid the deposit yet. Ellen Taylor will be returning to do another workshop, and Phil Dorroll (Dance America Dancefloors) will supply the floor. (If he deejays also, that will save us the cost of another room). Judy Collins may also deejay and be our music vendor. We should have enough of the "Ask-Me-To-Dance" pins for next year.

Regardless of where we hold the event, we will be facing an increase in food and beverage costs. As the host club, we should eat last (we ran short this year as there were some incidents of guests carrying excessive food away from the dining area).

After some discussion, the Board members decided to ask Sandra Barker if she would chair the Boogie for 2008. Chuck suggested that we have some business cards made up, in addition to our flyers, to promote the Boogie.

The Park Vista may be cheaper than the Music Road Hotel. We do not have enough information yet to make a decision for 2009.

We talked briefly about the need for another club party, but no decision as to date or location was reached.

Chuck reported that we now have 160 members.

The meeting adjourned at 7:15 p.m.
