BOOGIE
Ticket Sales
Bill reported that we have sold approximately 260 tickets. The Board agreed that it is a “Go” at this point.
Committees
Donna will put sign-up sheets on the piano on Sunday nights. Dwight (Floor chair) may be out of town for set-up of the floor but has someone lined up to take his place. Karen (Hospitality chair) will do the meal tickets.
Promotion
Bill will take flyers to the Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg Chambers of Commerce. Donna will take tickets to Columbia for the ASCS workshop on February 25.
Other
The Board decided the best time for the line dance workshop was on Friday from 12 to 1 p.m.
Bill will do a post-Boogie survey via e-mail to get feedback for improvements to next year’s Boogie.
VALENTINE DANCE
Scheduled for February 11 at Dance Dimensions. Donna will ask Bill and Beverly to send out a message via e-mail and to Tom to post on our website.
DANCE LESSONS
Bill and Johnnie Vann have been doing at the Holiday Inn on Sunday nights. Bill suggested forming a committee so that all of the burden doesn’t fall on the same people. He also suggested teaching one new step per month. Location for these lessons was also discussed, possibly checking to see if Church Street Methodist would be an option. This will be discussed further at the March Board meeting.
MISCELLANEOUS
Donna has mailed our ASCS dues ($50). Donna asked for the Board’s opinion about putting a link to Michael’s and Dance Dimensions on our website; there were no objections.
TREASURER’S REPORT
June reported that we have a bank balance of $3,967.71 as of February 1.
The meeting adjourned at 8:35 p.m. The next Board meeting will be on Thursday, March 2, at June’s at 6:30 p.m.
Respectfully submitted,
Marcia Lawson, Secretary
